I, Kathryn Spence am a dance artist/choreographer/programmer, trained at Laban, based in the Shetland Islands. I am passionate about people and dance and bringing the two together. Much of my work is about inspiring movement in others and providing a sense of community. My choreography is often inspired by the environment and our human impact upon it. I am passionate to make work that can make a difference. I believe that dance can be an international language for us all. I make dance films and have been commissioned by the BBC to do so. I love human connection across borders and have worked internationally - I also love working locally, and love regular movement classes at Levenwick Hall, Shetland, where I live.
